It is hard to lose a loved one. This year I lost 2. My dad in April and immediately there after, my mom, on Mothers Day. My dad had pre-arranged all his plans. My mom, living in a nursing home, had not and I, being the only child remaining, ( my brother died years ago) was tasked with handling all the finals involved. She had already indicated to me she wanted to be cremated so I knew that much and nothing more. Mainly because I hadn’t seen it coming so I was unprepared. I couldn’t afford the conventional funeral home where she was transported so I had to get my search on while also being in a dazed and shocked state of mind. I hope this little explanation sets up the scene of understanding what I was going through. I hadn’t even gotten to the mourning point for losing dad and now mom? Whoa. Anyway I started calling around and thought I had discovered the people and company I would use but it turned out they were more concerned about getting as much money as they could before hand with their fakery sad voice which turned to anger when I said they wouldn’t be getting her insurance policy up front. Not to mention it was a debilitating small amount. It was just a burial plan. Their attitude scares me to say the least. So back to drawing board I had to go all the while stressing out that mom was laying in a lonely cold freezer draw somewhere. (That is a weird type of stress.) I googled the same sentence I had used before and scrolled the listings of “Cremation Co’s.” I can’t say how long I was staring at the page when I realized I wasn’t even reading just blank staring when a word caught my eye. The word was GREEN. I honed in that for some odd reason. GREEN CREMATIONS TEXAS. The next thing which caught my eye was, Call or TXT now. I clicked and was absolutely fascinated. The whole premise of this company is relaxing, inviting, easy and somehow comforting. A “green” cremation is just that. Environmentally friendly. It is also emotionally friendly. I can’t explain it but I just knew it had to be GreenCremationsTexas. Spiritually speaking it just makes sense. So I texted. And met Eric and Marlaena. I cannot tell you the depth of their true goodness. In the world we live in today we do things differently. We txt instead of call. We do our research first, read reviews and such but I can’t tell you how amazing it was to do business with GCT. No hassles. No hidden agenda. No slimy attempts to extract as much $$$ as possible. And most importantly no fakery. During a time of grieving you need simple, straightforward steps. And you will find it with GCT. Each and every step was modern and SO user friendly! Death takes the life out of everything around it, not just your loved one, and feeling “brain dead” while trying to plan how to take care of mom for the last time, it just feels like too much!
