October 11, 2021
Birthplace: Danville, Illinois
Resided In: San Antonio, Texas

Jamie Marie Martinek Ritter passed away October 11, 2021 in San Antonio, Texas.  She was born in Danville, Illinois on August 11, 1971 to Thomas William Martinek Jr. and Shelley Jean Risser Martinek.  She spent her childhood years on her family farm in Covington, Indiana, surrounded by her loving friends and family.  Her family moved to Austin, Texas in 1984 after losing their home to a fire.  Jamie was a true Texan but left a piece of her heart in Indiana.

Jamie was a strong person and lived a full and good life.  She worked hard to put herself through college and was an elementary school teacher for many years in Austin and San Antonio. She was loved by her students. She changed careers in 2015 when she took a position as Communications Supervisor for Spectrum Association Management in San Antonio.  She loved to write and create and was extremely talented in her work.

Jamie was a beautiful woman who left us way too soon. She was a beloved mother, daughter, sister and friend.  We are all heartbroken by her loss.

She is survived by her beloved son, Riley Cade Ritter, who was the light of her life, her partner Ivan Villavicencio, both of San Antonio, her parents Thomas William Martinek, Jr. and Shelley Risser Martinek, her sister and brother-in-law Jennifer Jean Martinek Masters and Adam Jones Masters, her brother and sister-in-law Joshua Thomas and Rebecca Martinek, her sister Jessica “Pepper” Leigh Martinek, and her Grandfather Jack Louis Risser, all of Austin.  She treasured her beloved nephews and nieces Will and Laura Kate Masters, Jack Masters, Susan Masters, and Eliana Martinek, all of Austin, who all called her “Aunt Mamie,” a name she was given by Will when he was small.  She will be missed by her many, many aunts and uncles and cousins across the country.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday November 6 at 11 a.m. at Life Austin Chapel, 8901 Highway 71 West, Austin, TX 78735.
