Keith Weston Warde, age 68, of Dripping Springs (Johnson City), Texas went home to be with our Lord the morning of June 14, 2021 at St David’s Medical Center in Austin Texas. Born in the Navy Hospital in San Diego, Ca to William and Peggy Warde (Cannon) on August 22, 1952.
Weston was predeceased by his mother, Peggy Leigh Cannon of Houston, TX, and his father, William Albert Warde of Jacksonville, FL. He is survived by his sister, Kristen Warde Lewis and her husband Thomas Lewis of Chester Springs, PA, his nephew Thomas Lewis IV also of Chester Springs, Pa and his niece Lindsay Leigh Lewis of Dallas, TX, as well as his cousins Valerie, Lisa, Lynn, Lucia and other cousins and extended family.
Weston, a true musician, loved music and shared his joy of it with others. He was never happier than when he played his “Gibson Firebird” guitar, starting out in Jacksonville many years ago. The “Beatles” were one of his favorites, in fact, he knew every song. He kept playing when he moved to Houston, Tx playing in small groups and venues.
Weston lived in many places as part of a Navy family, living in San Diego, Morocco, Pensacola, and Jacksonville, FL. where he attended Jr. High School. He moved to Houston, Texas where he finished high school, and earned his Associates Degree at the University of Houston. He continued his education at the University of Houston and also began a career in specialty tool sales.
In 1996, Weston, who always loved the Texas Hill country, moved from the city to the Dripping Springs area. He loved the peace and tranquility of living on his own 10 acres in his small cabin with his rescued dogs and cats.
Weston accepted the Lord Jesus as his savior and had an active church life whenever his health would allow him to. He was passionate about God’s Word, with a thirst to know as much of the Bible as he possibly could. It thrilled him to discuss it with anyone who was willing. YAHWEH was his favorite name of God and he always talked about how much it excited him that YAHWEH is still forming galaxies. He also gave back to others whenever he could; you might have seen Weston – in his red Trump hat – while he volunteered at the local thrift store in Dripping Springs.
Weston struggled with illness through much of his life due to persistent recurring liver cancer and was on the liver transplant list for the last 18 months. It was his faith in the Jesus that gave him the strength to fight this for many years, struggling through pain and hardship. He appreciated all the help from the transplant team at United Methodist Church of Dripping Springs, as well as the help of Hometown Missions who strengthened his faith in God and helped make his life so much better.
Weston will continue to live in our hearts and memories. One of his best friends said “I can easily say I’ve never known anyone as brave, strong, and true as Keith Weston Warde”.
There will be a memorial service for Weston at the United Methodist Church of Dripping Springs in the near future.
