Nancy Cotton

Peacefully and surrounded by her family, our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend Nancy Cotton of Bertram, Texas passed away Friday, July 15, 2022 at the age of 79.

She will be lovingly remembered by her children: Mark and Becky Cotton, Gil Cotton, Cathy and Chris Tiller, Louis Cotton, and Craig and Alma Cotton; grandchildren: Chrystie Smith, Brandon Cotton, Ricky Pearson, Carrie Pearson, Janice Bage, Misty Elwess, Susan Chapa, Amanda Williams, Michael Cotton, and Brittany Cotton; sister: Jean and Dennis Opferman; 28 great grandchildren; as well as numerous relatives and friends.

She was predeceased by her loving husband of 56 years, Leon Cotton; sister: Linda Smith; brother: Joe Barrett; and her parents: Claudia Barrett and Alfred Melton.

Nancy was born in Wichita Falls, Texas on June 9, 1943 to Claudia and Alfred. At the age of 16 she met the love of her life, Leon Cotton. They married on October 5, 1959. Nancy and Leon welcomed 5 wonderful children. Nancy devoted her time raising their children. Nancy’s most proudest accomplishments were her children, they were her pride and joy. After all the kids were grown, she committed herself to her job, she was always respected for her loyalty and hard work as a supervisor. She retired at 71. Nancy was the heart of the family by being the perfect example of unconditional love she showed. Nancy was the true epitome of being a gracious and God-fearing woman.

“We know that we can’t have you but we’re happy knowing that the angels have finally got you back. Now that you’ve been called to your eternal home, may you Rest In Peace.” 

Memorial services will take place on Saturday, August 20th at 11 a.m., at the Williamson County Cowboy Church, 8355 Ranch Rd. 1869, Liberty Hill, Texas. Lunch will be served for all following the service.
