It’s hard under the circumstances of losing someone you love to even think about the processes involved, Green Cremation however made it so... much easier to grieve and get things done at same time. Melissa went out of her way to make sure My loved one, my family and myself were able to understand the process and get to say goodbye to my beloved husband. I can not express my gratitude to Green Cremation. Eric and Melissa, worked meticulously to honor our wishes for the last rites rituals for... my nephew. They went above and beyond their call of duty, with timely communications and up-to date information regarding paperwork and flow of actions associated with cremation of our loved one. Even with delivery of his ashes to us followed by a personal phone call about our well being literally was beyond humane. During these trying times with restrictions in place and an unfortunate heartache due to loss of a young life, could not be handled any better. We are thankful, grateful and feel blessed. Additionally, even though it is a business they are in, but payment was never an issue, and charges are much bearable than other available choices. Austin and I called Green Cremation and they were the answer to my prayers. Melissa took care of everything, from working with the city to get his remains, keeping me posted at the progress during this COVID epidemic, to advising me of the actual date and time she was going to actually do the cremation so we could honor him at that exact moment! Before my father passed, he said for me to look into other places that may be more affordable. That is how I came across Green Cremation in... my search. I didn't know that funeral services could also be environmentally conscious. I gave a call to Melissa in the late evening to speak with her of their services. She was very nice and understanding and said to call her back with any further questions. After doing a few more calls to other funeral homes, I came right back to Green Cremation. Having my father pass was hard enough and Melissa, Kermit, and her team did an excellent job in ensuring that the paperwork and taking care of my father did not add any further stress. The most touching was sending Dan to pick-up my father's body at the hospital. Seton Hospital did a Veteran Salute and Dan turned out to be a veteran of the US Air Force. A veteran escorting and caring for a fallen veteran....If you want honest, affordable and caring people to take care of your loved ones, I highly recommend Melissa Unfred and Green Cremation.read more

My baby wasn't supposed to die. I wasn't supposed to be faced with choosing a funeral home for my firstborn at age 35. Yet... here I was.... We used google from my bed in the hospital, and my husband began the arduous task of reaching out to a few funeral homes for information. After a few calls, he seemed to struggle and took a break... he stated they felt cold on the phone, and emulated false empathy. Then, in that next round of calls, Melissa answered. From that first moment to the morning she brought the tiny Glass Orb containing our beautiful baby's cremated remains home was like dealing with a friend we had known for years. I keep trying to write this review and I’m at a loss for words. Death takes the life out of everything around it, not just your loved one,... and feeling “brain dead” while trying to plan how to take care of mom for the last time, it just feels like too much! On May 19th, I had gotten a call from my sister in law telling me to fly immediately to Orlando (I am away for work). Halifax Health... Hospice had let her know that my father was going to be passing soon and it was imperative that I fly in immediately - she wanted to contact me before hospice called me. We flew out that sameday to see my dad. My father passed away on Thursday May 23rd at 11:59 pm.

I have known about Melissa Unfred and her advocacy for a while. I wanted Melissa Unfred to be handling my father's post mortem care because she is translucent about her services, she is professional, and she went above and beyond to ensure that my father had the best possible treatment - that he had a dignified death.

My father was located in Deltona, Florida and she is in Austin, Texas - but that was of no concern to Melissa; she helped me even though she was out of state (I was located in Florida) and in a different time zone - she worked with my family and I on 24 hour call - all hours of the morning (especially since my father passed away so late in the evening).

She never upsold me on services that weren't needed and was very upfront about the costs. A lot of traditional funeral homes seem to take advantage of grief (trust me we did our research on pricing) during this time, Melissa did not. She treated my family and myself with dignity during this difficult time.

My family and I chose to have my father water cremated and I am eternally grateful that Melissa provides this service and orchestrated everything with timing and precision.

Her professionalism and courtesy are exemplary - I cannot express how she went above and beyond to ensure that communication was clear and precise. It is remarkable in this day and age that this service exists.read more
