Sue Anne Bass

Sue Anne Bass passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, June 4, 2022. She was born August 13, 1949, to William H. Bass and Emma Jane (Tyson) Bass in Austin, Texas. She was a true “native Austinite” and spent many of her younger days indulging in her love of music. Whether in the form of vinyl records or live concerts in 70s and 80s downtown Austin, music played an important role in her whole life.

Later in life, Sue Anne dabbled in genealogy and stayed close to family, particularly her mother, Emma Jane (Tyson) Weitz and her grandmother, Sue Belle McCall Tyson, for whom she was named. Sue Anne was preceded in death by most of her close family members—her parents, her stepfather Billie L. Weitz, her grandparents, and her aunt and uncle. She is survived by her three first cousins on her mother’s side–John Beasley, Jr. and Richard Beasley of Kyle, Texas and Robert Beasley of Madison, Alabama.

Plans for a memorial and celebration of Sue Anne’s life are pending. Her family hopes to scatter her ashes in a manner fitting the vibrant way Sue Anne lived her life.
